This policy explains what information is collected when someone visits or uses thewellnesssommelier.com, how it’s used, and what choices are available. It applies to every page on this site.
Information Collected
Two kinds of information are collected here:
Automatically, through normal use of the site: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and time spent on them, collected through Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
Directly provided: an email address when subscribing to the newsletter, a name and email address when submitting the contact form, and payment details when purchasing the Decision Toolkit, handled entirely by a third-party payment processor. Card numbers are never stored on this site’s own servers.
How Information Is Used
Information collected here is used to send the newsletter and any content requested through it, respond to questions submitted through the contact form, understand which content is useful and which isn’t, and process purchases. It is not sold or shared for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Third-Party Services
A few outside services are used to run this site, and each has its own privacy practices:
Google Analytics and Google Search Console are used to understand site traffic and search performance. Google’s use of this data is governed by Google’s own privacy policy, not this one.
An email service provider is used to manage the newsletter and send emails to subscribers.
A payment processor is used to handle purchases of the Decision Toolkit securely.
When a link to an outside retailer is followed, that retailer or its affiliate network may set its own cookies or collect its own data, governed by their privacy policies, not this one. See the Affiliate Disclosure page for how those links work.
Cookies
This site uses cookies, small files stored by a browser, primarily through Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used. Cookies can be disabled through browser settings at any time; doing so may affect some site functionality but won’t prevent access to any content.
Privacy Choices
Regardless of location, and regardless of whether required by law, the following choices are honored for anyone who asks: knowing what personal information has been collected, requesting a copy of it, requesting its deletion, correcting inaccurate information, and opting out of any sale or sharing of personal information. Visitors from the EU, UK, or elsewhere with their own applicable privacy law are covered by the same list, including receiving a copy of collected data in a portable format. None of these requests result in different treatment or a reduced experience on this site.
Children’s Privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and personal information is not knowingly collected from them. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided information here, contact editor@thewellnesssommelier.com and it will be removed.
Data Security
Reasonable measures are used to protect the information collected here, but no method of online transmission or storage is completely secure, and that can’t be guaranteed absolutely.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated as the site, its tools, or the law changes. The date at the top reflects the most recent version.
